Building Tomorrow’s Health Today

In 2032, The London Clinic celebrates 100 years of supporting and sharing healthcare excellence. As a charity, this special anniversary presents an opportunity. It invites us to meet the medical challenges and growing healthcare inequalities facing us and future generations, especially in the field of cancer.

Our campaign vision is to have a wide-reaching impact on the advancement of cancer diagnostics and care, with our work responsible for saving and extending countless lives across all communities.

Building Tomorrow’s Health Today is all about fulfilling this vision. With early funding already secured to begin this journey, the next phase involves stepping up our activities so that future ambitions can be achieved.

An extraordinary, pioneering new hospital is now well within our sights, but we need your help to make it happen.

Becoming change makers in cancer care

The London Clinic wishes to lead, as it always has done, at the forefront of innovation in oncology. Our Centenary Campaign is a critical part in achieving this vision with the help of philanthropists who want to join us in creating transformational change in cancer medicine.

Our aspiration is to use this excellence to support not just those who can navigate independent cancer services, but to reach out to thousands of patients on NHS waiting lists. Many of these are living in underserved communities and have no way of accessing the tests or specialist scans they need, quickly.

As a charity, we have an opportunity to use our expertise and share our pathways to effect lasting change beyond the walls of our hospital.

In each phase, the Campaign will tackle a required focus for change:

Phase I

Expanding Rapid Diagnostic Services: The earlier a diagnosis, the higher the chance of survival.

Phase II

Providing the very best treatment pathways, giving patients access to the latest, most effective medicine.

Phase III

Innovation and Holistic Care: Supporting the development of the present and future ways of treating cancer, here and across the world.

Our Priorities

Leading the way to better outcomes for everyone

Why do we need to do more?

In the United Kingdom, there are currently around 20,0001 avoidable deaths each year from cancer. By 2040, it is anticipated that as many as 5.3 million2 British people will be living with the disease. Worryingly almost half of all cancer cases are diagnosed at the later stages3 and in socially deprived communities, mortality rates for breast and prostate cancer are considerably higher.4

When the disease is caught early, we know that these figures improve significantly.5

All of this compels us to refocus our resources and seek further new investment to enable a rapid and agile response. In short, it means elevating cancer care to the point where clinical innovation and excellence are available to all.

Why us and why now?

Our charity is unique in the way we offer the highest quality, personalised care across the whole cancer pathway. In one cohesive location, at the heart of London, we can bring transformational change by creating a bridge between the independent sector and the NHS.
