Our Progress

What we’ve achieved so far with philanthropic support

Since October 2022, the success of Phase I of the Campaign has enabled us to secure funding for the creation of a new £11m Rapid Diagnostics Centre in Harley Street.

Housed across three buildings and spread over eight floors in the heart of Harley Street, the new Rapid Diagnostics Centre is home to a state-of-the-art 3.0 Tesla MRI machine, as well as the latest mammogram, ultrasound and scanning technology. This key facility also provides the foundation needed to fulfil every step of the cancer pathway, removing the risk of fragmented or disconnected approaches to care. From haematologists, pathologists and radiologists to clinical oncologists and nurse specialists, the hospital’s multidisciplinary team offers an outstanding level of collective excellence.

This centre is also providing a new heartbeat to our community outreach work. 20% of the centre’s capacity is pledged towards outreach and support to the NHS. At the time of writing, this ground-breaking facility, opened in Spring 2024, is already serving more than 225 NHS patients a month. Many of these are referred from breast clinics and other specialist units at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and the Royal Free Hospital.

Thanks to the generosity of key supporters such as The Julia and Hans Rausing Charitable Trust, The Lakshmi Mittal Family Foundation, Dorsett Foundation, Future Foundation and Mukal Madav Foundation, we now have diagnostic capability that matches the very best in the world.

A further £4m will also be allocated to providing open access to healthcare education and supporting rapid diagnostics with upgrades to our endoscopy unit
and pathology laboratory.
