Making a marked impact on the number of unavoidable cancer deaths

Building Tomorrow’s Health Today, is wholly focused on making a marked impact on the number of unavoidable cancer deaths, across the whole of society. Our supporters can play a pivotal role in achieving this ambition, and together, we can create an exceptional hospital that’s firmly rooted in the local community.

The Centenary Campaign is about investing in building our reputation for excellence; from initial diagnosis to end-of-life therapies. With your support, we can help more people to live longer, healthier lives and equip them with the tools to both prevent and survive cancer.

Our ambition as we approach 2032, is to share the benefits of this joined-up care with even more patients. Whether that means assisting those on long NHS waiting lists with face-to-face care, or delivering world-wide impact with new AI technology, education and research programmes – tomorrow’s healthcare depends on what we do, today.

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the journey we are on. We would like to share a few final thoughts from our staff and patients, as they are the ones we are inviting you to invest in. Only with your support can we build the kind of healthcare that transforms the way we respond to cancer and changes lives for the better.

“As someone who works closely with the community, I know this offering is desperately needed, people from all walks of life are currently struggling to access healthcare and are stuck on long waiting lists. Many of the communities I work directly with have had bad experiences with healthcare professionals and bodies and this has made them wary of seeking help. However, I firmly believe that the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by The London Clinic have the potential to reshape these perceptions positively, fostering a renewed trust in seeking healthcare support.”

Reverend Donna McDowell

“The London Clinic is special due to its holistic approach to patient care, solely driven by excellence within a beautiful environment. As a charity, all the profits are put back into improving patient care, training and education. Having served as a trustee for other charities such as Prostate Cancer Research and Malcolm Coptcoat Trust, I appreciate that private healthcare has to be much more than generating income. The London Clinic is uniquely placed to give back to its community and we intend to do so through our new rapid diagnostic centre at 142-6 Harley Street, which I am extremely excited about.”

Prokar Dasgupta OBE

“The exceptional care and respect I receive at The London Clinic are what inspired me to make a donation to them. I chose to give an unrestricted donation, trusting that the Clinic would know best where to allocate these funds. Having dedicated much of my life to supporting underserved communities and fundraising for causes close to me, I understand the significant impact of contributions like mine. I am profoundly grateful to be in a position to make a donation that will enable others to receive the same level of care and respect that I experienced during my time at The London Clinic.”

“My husband Martin was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer in September 2018. The prognosis was very poor, but through The London Clinic’s amazing team we have managed to extend his time with us. He received radiotherapy at The London Clinic and treatment from the nuclear medicine team. All of the staff were incredibly professional and, at the same time, caring. The London Clinic is truly outstanding, and my husband and I felt fully supported throughout his treatment. Unfortunately, Martin eventually lost his battle. I now work with the Clinic to encourage everyone, especially men of Martins age, to understand the signs of cancer and get checked out as soon as possible. That’s why the Clinic’s work is so important.”

Martin & Nicola Horlick

“I started working at The London Clinic 15 years ago as a radiographer – I look back and feel like I have grown up here! what initially drew me to working at The Clinic was the culture of the people working here and importantly, the time I could spend with patients. This felt different to other hospitals I had worked in where you often felt like you were on a tight schedule and so didn’t quite have enough time to spend with each patient. I think The Clinic’s charitable status is what sets it apart from others and allows us to always focus on quality of care for patients. I have always loved the people I work with. For many of us who are away from family, the familiarity and warmth of our colleagues makes it a little bit easier being away from our home countries. I am ultimately motivated by working with my colleagues to improve things. Whether that be launching new services, decreasing waiting times, and making plans for more patients to use our great hospital!”
